  • What happened to the Z?

Russ and I spent 5 hours last night trying to change the shocks and front sway bar on the car. We didn't have much luck. First problem we ran into was that we couldn't get the endlinks free to release the swaybar, so the Hotchkis Swaybar is still on the car. The second problem we had was that pulling the front shocks off ...

  • Re: Grand Prix Speedways Tonight?

Jeff:details of said car transaction? Details when it's completed. The dealer still has time to piss me off and make me change my mind before then. This transaction doesn't involve the 350Z at all.

  • Project Z gets a new Swaybar

The Project Z got a new front sway bar last weekend. Andy ordered the Hotchkis setup for the car, which comes with a front/rear bar, but being that we run in SCCA Stock Solo classes we can only upgrade the front bar. The bar is a 35mm hollow bar, a bit lighter than the 350EVO bar we had on the car which I believe was a 34mm solid bar. It also ...

  • Autocross Project Z gets some new wheels

I've made arrangements to purchase the wheels off of this Yellow Z (Andrew James) this weekend. I'll hopefully have them next week, possibly in time for KC, but most likely just in time for Denver the following weekend. There are actually 3 more things we're planning on doing to the Z before Nationals. 1 being rotors and pads. 2 and 3 being ...

  • Project Z 2 Years Later

The two year mark for the car came and passed and I totally forgot about it! I picked the car up Friday night April 18th 2003, I ended up not “owning” it until Saturday the 19th as the dealer was swamped and I was late for a date. My sales guy told me to take the car and come back the next morning to finish up paperwork. It's ...

  • 2003 Nissan Solo2.org Project 350Z at the Atlanta National Tour

After our impressive showing at the Arkansas National Tour in mid-March, my co-driver (Andy Hohl) and I decided we needed to go to the Atlanta National tour in early April to compete against 2 of the best drivers in the country, whom we knew would be competing in B-Stock at the Atlanta National Tour. I ended up getting a hitch built by Tuxedo ...

  • Project Z gets a new stripe, rebadged!

I spent today, well this afternoon, working on the Z again. I put two coats of Zaino on it Yesterday afternoon after clay bar'n the car. Today I used the Zaino Z-6 to clean it off and I applied a new stripe! It actually turned out a LOT better than I had expected it to look. Check out some of the pictures ...

  • Project 350Z gets some new tires, and a new wheel bearing...

Thursday evening I replaced the engine tray cover, thanks to a hookup at a local nissan parts department I was able to do it for far less than I had expected! Back a few weeks ago I was headed down the highway and noticed it was dragging, a few zip ties fixed that incident, but didn't last for long, it has been scraping the past few weeks while ...
