Two things racing friend's don't know about you?

Alright, so this topic kind of came up at the St. Louis Region banquet tonight. I bid in the silent auction, and won, a brand new (or at least looks new), golf bag. Most everyone's response was, I didn't know Chris plays golf.

    So that's my Number 1.

    1. I play golf, not much anymore, but in high school I worked at a golf course for 3 years, and played on my school team my senior year. I love golf, but racing kind of took over my weekends as of the past 6-7 years.

    2. I am a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. While attending the University of Missouri - Rolla I joined the house and have never looked back, it's been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, right up there with getting into the SCCA.

So now it's your turn. What are two things your "racing" friends don't know about you?

    1) Before bad knees I was a pretty fair soccer/volleyball/softball player.

    2) I play golf.

    1) I play golf, or at least used to, now its more of an occasional go out and knock the ball around in a manner that might resemble golfing.

     2) I'm not exactly from the St Louis area, only been here since about middle school(95/96) and even 2 of those years wasnt in st louis.  Before that I lived out west in Arizona, Colorado, and Utah.

I'm moving to Theory, everything works there.

    1.  I would rather watch This Old House, Hometime, or any other similar show than watch baseball, football, hockey, etc on TV.  Going to a game is different but I don't go out of my way to get tickets.

1 1/2   Although, I can do a fair amount of work on the car,  I prefer to work on my house.  So far, new electrical, a lot of new plumbing, painting, and rebuilding a carport has been taking most of my time.

    2.    I don't play golf, but I did used to swim in highschool and a little in college.

    1.  Before SCCA was a Jaguar collector and BassMaster with fast boats and a Marine Mechanic with an ASE certification in automobiles.

    2. Still have old 58 Jag under restoration and ASE certification in engines, brakes, and suspensions.

What's with all this love for golf? Leave it to the Scottish to come up with a game where you hit something, then go chasing after it yourself. Confused

    A few things that no one knows about me;

    1) Although I barely know how to swim and don't care much for water, I really enjoy boating. Surprise

     2) I love the outdoors. Float trips, camping, and hiking are really fun!

    1. I'm a huge Final Fantasy dork. I don't just mean dork, I mean DORK!  I've got cds with the music from the games on them.  I've played every game released in America since the first one came out on Nintendo back in 1990.  I've even played ones that were never released in America.  All of the ringtones on my phone are from some FF game.  I don't go as far as to dress up like the characters or anything that far gone but I do really enjoy the games and the music from them.

    2.   I read ALOT of sci fi and fantasy novels.  Arshad didn't even think I could read.  I still have a huge amout of Dragonlance novel that I've never gotten rid of.  I don't really see a point in getting rid of books, just buy more bookcases.

    hmmmnnn....

    1. Miata's collect me....or is it the other way around.  What?....Oh, you guys already knew that, okay...

    1. Got my pilots license coming out of high school.  Pursued instrument and commercial ratings for a short while, but after 9-11-01 what was left of those jobs dissapeared and flight time was expensive so I left that behind me.  Working slowly on a very generic business degree now.

     2. Born and raised in the mother country, across the pond.  Lived outside London until I was about 10yrs old.  Been in St.Louis ever since.  I make it back every couple years to see family and such.  Sort of miss it.....theres lots to keep me occupied stateside but some of the little things just can't be found here.

Re: Two things racing friend's don't know about you?

This is hard, because there is a lot about me that *most* on here don't know, so I'll try and pick out the most unusual things to share:

    1.  When I was 16 years old I rode a bicycle from Michigan to Maine.  This was with a group of 8 girls (aged 16-19) and 2 guys.  We carried all of our gear, and either camped or slept in basements of churches that would allow us.  And yes, I learned alot about the opposite sex that summer.  Zip it!

    2.   I've had open-heart surgery.

Re: Two things racing friend's don't know about you?

    1. I really do like my kids!

    2. I am a serious college football fanatic, especially where my Razorbacks are concerned.

1A. I enjoy watching a beautiful sunset with my spouse. (Happened to do this last weekend in San Diego!)

2A. I am actually a terrible mechanic and in awe of people with those abilities.

OK, more than two so sue me.
