JamesE:I've had this idea for years. It can only be successful if they give the game away for $10 or less. Then charge microtransactions for each track or car. Could be interesting if they allow car trading. But it could easily blow up in their face. Based on Sony's current tragectory, they are going to crash and burn. Like it or not, M$ FTW in this generation of consoles. Bring on Forza 2 and the FF Wheel!
From what I've read, it seems there are basically releasing two "demo" type versions coming out before the actual game release. One that comes with nothing and the option to buy and the other that has a few included tracks & cars. I bet it depends on the success of the demos if they will include the same type of pay to play system in it. If the demos crash and burn, they won't risk killing the GT series by including it. GT4 has to be a success.
Being a PS fan from the beginning - I hate to say, I agree with James on M$. With the $600 price point on the PS3. I will not be purchasing it and I don't want the cut down $500 system. Sony has priced the PS3 out of my price range of what I feel I can spend on a game system, I mean $600 is computer territory. Sony has put themselves in the same boat as 3DO, Jaguar, Neo Geo, were - pushing expensive technology before it has been accepted. Anybody know what happened to them?
