    Junkyard Wars

Anyone watch Junkyard Wars?  I just discovered the show on the Science channel and today's "Jet Trikes" show featured a team of SCCA Solo2 drivers from the Great Lakes region (if I heard correctly) called "Dirty Drivers".  The two teams had 10 hours to build a jet-powered tricycle out of junkyard parts.  Excellent show - definitely DVR'ing the other episodes.

Oh wow, that show is still around?  I watched that all the time about 3-4 years ago.  It was great until they started doing stupid stuff to improve it....I figure the stupid improvements will be coming soon for Mythbusters. :)

I think it was Jennifer Meredith on there, I forgot the other ladies name.

I didn't know it was still on either.  Some of the magic of it was ruined by knowing they 'seed' the junkyards with valuable, rare finds.  I imagine a bunch of gearheads would be a formidable team!  Just imagine what a team of people like Sam Platt, Bud Scott, James Elterman, Chris Hammond, and others could do given a challenge. Sometimes I feel like I live with one of these mad scientist typesStick out tongueGeekedSuper AngryBig Smile

Maybe a version of this would make a good off-season region charity fundraiser?

Wow, maybe it's the jack daniels, but I find this to be hilarious!!!!! Was stephanie there to see what happened to the car I actuall built? Runtime was a total of probably 10 minutes tops before the motor went, and it was easily 4 months behind :)

Yeah, I remember, but that doesn't mean that you wouldn't fit in with a build team--it seems the more diverse the group the better the theories/ideas.  It's just like any other group--some are thinkers, some are doers, some sit back and heckle but are still valuable team members.
