FS: 92 Eagle Talon, Turbo, AWD

I'm reducing my car inventory again.  This time it's my daily driver and a great potential rallycross car.  Asking $2250.  I drive it about 180mi/wk, and it's been reliable for me.

    Specs:

Black '92 Eagle Talon TSi, AWD

Mostly stock, I bought it with a dead motor for spare parts and ended up fixing it instead.  Get's 22MPG or better if you can keep it off the turbo.

Approaching 200K on the chassis, unknown miles on the salvage yard motor.

Nice interior, and it shifts and drives great.

    2.5" --> 3" Exhaust with a reasonable sounding muffler.

Paint has the standard DSM clearcoat problems and looks crappy, but no rust that I know of.

Engine has an oil leak. I replaced the pan gasket and I resealed the valve cover which really slowed down the leak, but it still leaves a drop or two on the pavement occasionally. Might be a cam seal.

Puffs a little smoke on startup sometimes or if you let it idle for too long. Compression tests are good (175-170-165-168), so it appears to just be the valve seals. I have to add about 1/2 qt of oil every other tank of gas for city driving, but it doesn't seem to use nearly as much driving on the interstate.

All new heater/radiator/coolant hoses when I put in the motor a couple years ago.

New timing parts and water pump when the water pump went out last summer.

    New plug wires and plugs.

Replaced the rotors/calipers/pads, ball joints, and tie-rod ends within the last year.

I think it has a new pass side axle, and new CV boots on the drivers side. Sometimes I get confused with the '90.

Has an all-metal radiator, 2 years old.

New Autozone clutch when I put the motor in.

    Homemade PVC oil catch can.

Foglight button is broken, fogs may or may not work.

Canadian seatbelts but I have all the original seatbelts and trim, and I'd like to keep the Canadian ones if possible for my other car, but that's negotiable.

AC usually works, I have to charge it every 4 months or so. Haven't charged it yet this season.

On occasion, on really cool humid mornings, it will have an intermittent missfire. Never happens long enough for me to diagnose it, just goes away after about 5min. I'm sure it's a loose connector somewhere in the ignition letting moisture in, but I haven't thought too hard about it.

One of the tires is a touch out of balance.

Sometime within the last 4 months one of the accessories started to whine a little. No guarantees, but I think it's the alternator (again). If it is the alternator, I'll work with you to get another freebie from Autozone. I'm just driving it until it gets bad enough to really bother me.  If it's the PS pump, I have an extra one of those too.

I didn't clean it up before I snapped these, but here's some pics:

What's wrong Chris?  I never figured you were a DSM kinda guy.

Mr. "I take my STi to the dealer for engine mounts". ;)

Willing to deal, make me an offer.

Re: FS: 92 Eagle Talon, Turbo, AWD

Even if I wanted a Saab, I'm afraid this is an inventory reduction sale.  I like the Talon, and I'd keep it if I needed another car. :(

Hard to beat these DSM's for cheap thrills!

Re: FS: 92 Eagle Talon, Turbo, AWD

As much as I'd like to think I'm going to get rid of a couple more cars and save money, I know myself better than that.

I'm certain I will use the extra cash and what I save on insurance and registration to justify the purchase of a STI.  Maybe not soon, but I'll weaken eventually.

Re: FS: 92 Eagle Talon, Turbo, AWD

$1750, I need a new cylinder head for Misty and while shopping I found a great deal on an entire built motor.
