Izzy's
It's the Great Pumpkin CB!
As much as I wanted to hit the Memphis race on Memorial Day weekend, there's too many irons in the fire to justify it. Besides, I'm really not 100% confident in the car mechanically yet. I figure that the PDX will give me another good day of testing the car out and dusting off my own cobwebs. I've marked the Double Regional/PDX at Topeka down on my do do list but am looking forward to the August race at GIR and the Australian Pursuit format of the Bonus IT/SM race. Should be tons of fun!
In the meantime, a very orange Porsche 924 is in the shop for an 8 point IT cage.
I have to reel in my tendancy to overbuild a little on this one as the owner is very concerned about adding too much extra weight. There's an exciting "off site" project in the works coming up soon, involving the rework of an existing cage. Pics and details here.
In my best impersonation of the Madd Blogger, everything about safety harness' suck (except for the obvious life saving part). Ordering them sucks. The rules requiring the SFI versions to be replaced after 2 years, even though they were in 2 races and removed from the car the rest of the time, suck. Sending them back in for rewebbing, then having them delayed for parts shipments suck. Ordering another set because of said delay sucks. Having to borrow a set from one of your sponsoree's sucks (THANKS AGAIN BUD!). Receiving your rewebs three days after your race, and 8 days after you ordered another set... sucks. Finding out they sent you the completely wrong set, being put on hold for 8 minutes while you're trying to get something accomplished on a cage installation, sucks. Finding out that the confirmation email you received about set #2 being ordered is bogus and that they were never actually ordered... oh and the one's you did order are no longer available. Sucks! Don't even get me started on installing them.
