The ITA/IT7 RX7 racecar is over at Tuxedo Park Racing, the Sentra's down at AFI getting some work done on it, and as of 18 hours ago, I've got an empty shop. I'm already getting antsy for something to do.

The 3rd Gen FD RX7 was picked up last night after its 6 point Rollbar was finished off. The interior stayed mostly intact although it was like a jigsaw puzzle trying to get it all back in place with all of the bars in the way. Lots of "a little off this side, a little off that corner, test, a little more.... Nothing like the fun of dealing with 15 year old plastic that's being handled way more than ever intended.

I took my Sentra SE-R down to Curt at AFI Automotive for some maintainance work and a new exhaust system. New Waterpump, thermostat (yeah! it'll actually have heat in the winter again!), tuneup and most importantly, to find a misterious squeal that annoyed the heck out of me and had been getting worse. Seems it was the timing chain tensioner. I'm heading down tomorrow to pick it up and cant wait to hear how the new exhaust sounds. Anything will be better than "pshhhhhhhhhhhh" at full throttle from what was probably a 1.6L replacement exhaust.

The ITA car is over at TPR and Steven is working out all of the bugs that I worked so hard installing during the motor swap 2 years ago. So, the 50K mile 12a that I installed is reportedly running SMOOTHLY, but Stevens encountered a spark problem, possibly with the MSD's, so a conversion back to stock is probably in order.

To get the car ready to be back on track, I ordered my first set of competition tires in about 3 years! Wow, there's a lot more choices out there now... both in what to buy and where. I bought through Vilven Tire and snagged some Toyo RA-1's... Yeah I know (I can see Burkett now shaking his head at the screen), but I'm not going to waste a set of real tires on the 2 PDX's and some test days. When I figure out what races I'm actually going to run, I'll buck up a little more for some Khumos.

Pulled my Impact Harness' out of the car yesterday to send them back for a reweb (those 2 races I used them for really used them up...(d**n 2 year belt rule). Going to reposition their mounts when I get the car back from TPR as they're way too far behind the seat ... especially the anti sub mount :yikes:

Next SCCA Club Race at GIR is in 3 weeks. If TPR gets the car done, I might do the GIR Test N Tune the day before the races to give the car a shakedown and dust the cobwebs off of the nut behind the wheel.
