"It takes a steady hand...."

I haven't been too intimidated by many projects ("Sure! Lets rip the roof off and build a second story on the house... and live in it while we do it!"), but the FD RX7 in the shop now has me on my best behavior. This 3rd Gen is by far the nicest vehicle to come in to have some work done. Black on black with imaculate leather interior, this car has its fair share of car show wins... so let's toss it into a shop with lots of sharp metal, cumbersome tubing, sparks, dust & debris flying around!

So far so good though! The 6 point is underway with the rear 4 points almost complete. When finished, the rollbar will be NHRA & SCCA Solo & Time Trials legal. The doorbars will be removable using Chris Alston Chassisworks swingout's on both sides.

 Couple of Pics:

More available here: FD RX7 Rollbar

The temporary "strut bar" is long gone, replaced by an X between the hoop braces. Once the interior trim has been test fitted and cut to fit, the bar will be removed for paint and final welds then reinstalled. Then fun with doorbars begins Party!!!
