In more ways than one! The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of projects, distractions, and spinning wheels, but finally I'm back on schedule.
The NASA Spec944 cage is back on track with the pads getting finished up in the next day or so when the main bars will start. A couple of doorbar updates are out of the way as Bill Briggens G-Prod cage is getting a NASCAR bar update and my brother Steve's ITA Neon ACR got two steps closer to seeing the track this year with its own doorbar updates. Nothing fancy as the cage'll be coming out next year.
And most importantly, my own RX7 will be back on the track this year! I towed it over to Tuxedo Park Racing today for a "new" engine and clutch installation and a little dyno tuning to make sure everythings up to snuff. I've got a bunch of small updates to do to it to catch up on the rule changes since the last time it was on track. 2" tow eyes, SFI padding, harness reweb (since that one race weekend and then removal obviously was destructive to them) and a few other things that escape me now, not to mention a complete nut & bolt check, bearing & brake check and a general clean-up of the poor car.
We're adding an additional pit crew member in September, so I have to have as much fun as I can in the next 6 months!
