Izzy's
Cue Dobi Gray (or Uncle Cracker for you young-ins)
Marla got the boot and is getting all prettied up for her big weekend. Before she was even on her way home, an ITS BMW 325 came in for a doorbar update and to remind me how S L O W the TIG process is and how many Ibuprofen's I need to take after TIG welding on a cage.
I left the shop door open for one night and some Drifter wandered (slid?) in and took up residence. He started using some sort of foreign language... Clutch Kick, gymkhana, tandem drift, slip angle (OK ... that one I recognized) and Formula D Roll Cage rules... AHHHH now I've figured out what he wants!
So the next project is in the shop for a full cage in a S13 chassis 240sx. Interior removal is almost complete with the dash still hanging by a couple of bolts, but coming out soon. The power seat belts are going in the trash for a set of S14 Manual belts (gotta keep it street legal) so we can keep the downbars tight to the A-Pillars. Pad prep has begun with the rear shock tower pads already being installed.
The car is being prepped for the Drift Practice day on GIR's road course coming up in March and is being organized by the owner of the 240. In order to do any tandem runs, the cars will have to be caged. Should be quite an event. Spectators are welcome! I'll get the link to the info and post it for all you closet drifters on s2o ;) Heck, if I can get the RX7 over to Tuxedo Park Racing in time, I might burn off some rock hard Khumos!
Oh... and Dobi Gray wrote "Drift Away"... a song covered by pretty much every band in existance.
Also, if anyone catches me seriously using "Mad Tight" or saying Yo... you get a free cage ;)
