In preparation for the 100 Acre Wood Pro Rally in February, Shawn Manny & Pete Wells dropped off "Marla" for some updates. The Audi quattro will be running as the 00 car (or 0... or 000... I dunno... ask one of the rally guys who it makes sense too ;) ) in the Rally and needed a Navi seat, a skid plate and a light bar fabricated.
I tackled the toughest job first... the skid plate. Using some "found" materials and some recycled materials from the Wells' vette rollbar update, the skid plate took form. It had to be stout enough to take ton of abuse (or 1.5 tons), but be "easily" removable. The plate can come off on its own, or the entire unit can be removed. (These aren't the final fit, but you'll get the idea)
The second part of the build was the light bar. Originally I was going to tie the light bar into the skid plate BUT thought better of it should there be a pretty big off.
As far as the seat installation.... I hate installing seats so I'm not going to relive it :D
