A little less "Blurry"

So... the chain has been broken, the 20+ cage run has been shattered... and thank G-D! Every cage porject I've worked on I've had to suffer through Puddle of Mud's "Blurry" at least once. It's sort of been my "theme song" for cage builds whether I wanted it to be or not. I really didn't want to hear it on the rollcage build for the SCCA Solo CP Firebird, but you can't stay sane working on a cage without tunes.

Anyone who listens to the radio while working on their projects for any length of time will get to know playlists like the back of their hands. There's always that song that gets droned into  your head and will remind you of what you were doing when you heard it. Back when I was in High School working on my 1966 Dodge Dart GT, it was Queen's "I Want It All", after college when I spent hundreds of hours wetsanding a 55 Ford F-100 hot-rod, it was "One Headlight" by Dillons kid (WallFlowers?). To this day, when I hear that song, I zone out and start impulsively wetsanding in a W pattern. My wife finds that annoying, especially when I'm driving.

So, I officially finished the F-Body's roll cage installation yesterday and was really sweating it out as I was finishing up the little details. Every song that came on, there was a small pause in my work and then a sigh of relief.

So Carla Russo's CP F-Bodys cage work is done:

Next up... some updates to "Marla" (Shawn Manny's quattro rally project), a doorbar update and Formula D 240sx Drift car. The owner of the 240 is organizing the first Drift Day at Gateway on the road course in March.... should be a blast to go and watch!

Looks great as always.  Just be thankful you only had to listen to Puddle of Mud rather than work on a car that had recently been through one (or several) :)

:D I'm very thankful for that!

So, today, I finished up a couple of minor details on the CP Car, moved it offically out of the shop to make way for the Sentra (broken half-shaft from all of that sr20 torque ;) ) and guess what was playing when I walked back in the shop!?!?! Whew, missed it by 2 minutes!
