Been a very busy couple of months! Between Shawn Manny's Audi quattro, Bill S's (no way I could spell it off the top of my head
) F Prepared RX7, a set of headers, control arm repairs for a Royale FF, engine stay rod and firewall repair on an ITB Omni and Timing & Scoring preps for the STL Regions last 2 races there was little time for updates on the blog! In the midst of all of that, a Porsche 944S2 came in the shop for some major cage work.
There was a long story to the car and I was the 3rd cage builder to tackle the project. First on the list was to cut out the previous attempts at the cage and start over. Luckily the pads were fine where they were located. The 4130 cage took just a little under 4 weeks to complete. The cage features 8 traditional cage mounting points along with 8 additional chassis tabs tying the cage into the A pillars, windshield header and roof line. The cage also ties into the factory front frame rail attachment points on the firewall. This will help aleiviate the firewall cracking problems that the 944's are known to have under race conditions.

Next up is another Porsche cage for a GT class car.
