Ok... I was wrong. Buds BMW wasn't the “last p(roject) for a while.”
Since the contractor “working” (and I use that term loosely) on my house decided to put off work for 2 weeks because the temps were in the 80's and there wasn't any ominous cloud cover, I decided to squeeze in a quick rollbar project while I didn't have a dumpster in my way.
The car is a 97 Nissan 240sx. The owner will be keeping the stock interior and is planning to compete in Solo II with it. The cage will be built using 1.75”x.095 DOM and will include two forward bars.
The project should take me about a week or so in between calls to my contractor to let him know that it's a good thing he's not tearing off my roof. Too bright and sunny to be working outside.
It sounds like the Formula Ford project that was coming may be hitting a few snags as unexpected damage keeps rearing it's ugly head.
The 100AW rally cage is on target though. The car was pre measured last weekend. Tubing has been purchased and will be waiting for the car to come back from Nebraska (and it's once a year de-lousing).
