Not for lack of trying, but it's been almost a year since I've been on the race track!
I'll finally be back on the track coming up in 2 weeks at the St. Louis Region SCCA's Heat Wave Weekend. I'll be co-driving my brother Steve's ITA Neon ACR. He'll race on Saturday so he's sure to get a race in, then I'll be racing on Sunday.
Basically, I've got to complete 2 races a season in order to retain my license. I had quite a bit of mechanical bad luck last year with the new RX7. Everything from bent panhard braces and broken panhard brace mounts (installed prior to my purchase of the car), to a FUBARd carb, to toasted MSD 6A units and blown motors. I don't think I was able to complete a single race last year. When this year started off poorly (cracked intermediate housing on a replacement motor and misterious vibration in a 2nd replacement motor), I had pretty much written the season off until Steve offered me the use of his car.
Pretty excited to get back on the track. I'm sure I'll have quite a write up of the weekend.
