Izzy's
Boomerang Cage
The mail order 2002 cage is out the door. This time I used a different company to ship with, as well as transport company. I used The Freight Rate Company to set the shipping up and Central Transport was the lucky trucking company to handle the cage. So... it's on it's way to Colorado!
The 300z that was supposed to show up for a rollbar and subframes had to be put on hold due to a mangled up turbo. The now “web-famous” Super Production Miata is waiting in line between TWO of the owners other Miata's, one of which should be coming in the next week or so to get an NHRA legal full cage. This monster Miata will be clocking low 10 second passes.
The SP Miata has already had it's cage cut out and is simply waiting in line for its turn.
In the mean time, Bud Scott's new project is in the shop getting a very familiar cage installed in it. Through the magic of Karma or the small world of racing RX7's, the roll cage that I cut out of my RX7 has come back to visit. After fixing the obvious and glaring safety hazards, I traded the Autopower or Kirkey cage to an RX7 nut out of the Cape/Bootheel area for some parts/core motors. Somehow, Bryan Cohn got his hands on the cage for his rallycross/IT7 RX7 project. Bryan sold the project to Bud and he dropped the car and cage off on Fathers Day to start the install.
The install is going well. The cage is in the car and ready for pad installation. The cage was originally a bolt in cage, but will be welded in with new custom cage plates. The rear braces will also be reworked as the factory ones are a little lacking in the length department.
