Anyone seen my compression?

After a 8 month banishment of sitting on the trailer to think about how it was behaving, the Racecar is finally back in the shop.

I threw it on the scales and it's a little overweight by about 90 lbs (with 190 of it being myself). Of course, that's with a full tank of gas since I only ran 3 or 4 laps before I zinged the motor. I ran a compression test on the 12a using a Boinger Snap-On tester with the valve depressed. 25 psi each on the rear rotor. Yep, must have blown all three apex seals. Check the front rotor... 0... ZERO????? wow. And I thought 25 was bad!

So... out came the motor last night. Went fairly quick and the easiest part was removing the bellhousing bolts. A tip of the hat to Mazda engineers on that one! The hardest part was pulling the radiator. Someone (ok me) had sealed up the openings between the body and the radiator with Racers Tape. Man, that stuff is stout. I must have looked at the pry bar 2 or three times while struggling with it but knew that there wasn't anything else holding it!
