Never... EVER try to switch the position of your filler rod while in the middle of a TIG weld, sitting on the floor and legs apart... with the just used end pointing exactly where you don't want it pointing. YEOWCH!!!

Just picture trying to concentrate on your weld, trying to reposition a 3 ft long piece of coat hanger wire (just a description ;) ) while modulating the throttle on your car, and you get the picture.
