Large item shipping

We crated up the rollcage for the '74 BMW 2002 using 2x2's and 1/4” plywood. Total weight was around 100 lbs, 86 of which was the cage.

The next hurdle was to find a decent price on shipping. After many online searches that ranged from the mid $150's to the upper 300's (EEK!) I found a website called www.freightquote.com . After registering there, I had a problem with the online quote system, but recieved a phone call directly from them within about 5 minutes. After talking with the representative, I was quoted a price of $119 to ship from here in St. Louis to Arroyo Grande CA using Central Freight Lines. $154 to ship from my door to the customers door in CA. I opted to save the customer some money and delivered the crate to Central's distribution facility down on Hall Street. What a trip that place was. Picture 10 forklifts buzzing around like bumper cars with crates of who knows what balancing off of the front of them.

So, if you ever need to ship something huge or heavy, check out www.freightquote.com !

In the future if you require shipping quotes that are better than your listed company, consider us. We are licensed, bonded and a legitimate choice with aggressive rates. Our cost for that same shipment would have been $103.53. It might even be lower but we made an educated guess on the class and dimensions of the product you shipped.

Please call with any questions.
