As of 10/20/04, the Improved Touring RX7 pads are finished and the main structures of the cage, the main hoop and front downbars, are bent and tacked in place!
The pads are fairly large and make use of as many vertical and horizontal structural elements as possible, as well as tying into frame elements. The hoop brace pads are roughly 86 square inches and tie the coil spring pearch to the shock tower and will also allow cross bracing between the main hoop pads/bar and the rear suspension load points.
There is some brainstorming taking place on the design of the NASCAR door bar on the drivers side. We hope to utilize a normal angled door bar, a sill bar, and a U shaped bar. More on that later! Pics will be uploaded to www.izzyscustomcages.com soon!
