Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe Brake lights and interior
When I drove the T-bird from the Sauget I noticed that the brake lights weren't working, though I KNEW they worked while out in Sauget. A few days later I noticed that the lights indeed worked, you just had to have your foot completely to the floor to get them to come on, which wasn't so good for coming to a stop, they only came on when completely stopped.
So today I set out to fix this. I started digging around through the manual, found the instructions for removing the switch on the brake pedal. I removed the switch as instructed and sprayed it off with some carb cleaner, it was pretty dirty looking, I figured the contacts inside were probably just gunked up.
I reinstalled the switch and tested the brake pedal out, nothing on the lights, not even when fully depressed. I then took the switch back out and complete disassembled it, hoping to clean it yet again. Still no dice, no power going to the brake lights at all. I then happen to notice I didn't plug the switch back in, I plug it in, still no brake lights. I check it again, and find that one of the wires going to the plug had broken, so I had to resolder the wire to the connector and boom the brake lights work like a charm.
I them spent a few hours reinstalling the rear seats, and some of the plastic interior peices to make the car look a little more “finished”. I've gotta buy some carpeting to lay carpet and some fabric to create a headliner, as well as come up with something for door panels!
I run this place.
