Just tired of seeing something with "War" and "Iraqi dead" on our title page.

Hillary: blonde (sort of) and married to Bill. As indicated in the press, very polarizing! Having lived in Arkansas while she was in the guv's mansion while Bill was out playing southern babes (maybe not the babe part) gives my wife heartburn.

Mr. Obama: Inexperienced but very charming and likable I think. Wish I knew more about his background, school and that kind of stuff, not the dirt that Senator Clinton is sure to dredge up.

They would/will win if they ran together, then duking it out.  Which is the way it should be, this idea of primaries is dumb and just runs up the cost and gives us no better, I say worse, candidates than before it was instituted.

The coupling of a woman and minority would topple the typical white male dominated politics of this country.  There's not enough white males to overcome the woman and minority combo.  Except in certain counties in Florida[;)]

     Barack info

Got Barack's 2nd book for X-mas, have not been able to start it though[:(]

The coupling of a woman and minority . . .[/quote]

. . .used to be illegal in most states.

Have you heard about the campaign bumper sticker both parties can use?  It reads "Run, Hillary, Run".  Liberals place it on the rear bumper.  Conservatives place it on the front bumper.

I think it'd be great if they run together. It'd assure a republican victory

I don't really understand the, 'Obama is too inexperienced' when he's more experienced then our current President.  Or maybe that's the point [;)]

Regardless, I'm not particularly fond of either and anybody I really liked would never get the nomination.

I do agree with Rande that the primary process is counter productive.

I kinda like the woman/minority ticket as a counter to the "good ole boy" establishment. I wonder if the honchos in the dem party can figure that out. Agreed on the primary things too. Sure does seem like an enormous waste of good money.

In the most recent Time magazine there is an interesting article on western democrats. They are the ones the party should be listening to. They are pragmatic, care about the environment, (not because they are tree huggers, but because most of the people they represent make their living from it) and have a live and let live attitude. The problem is that the democratic party is controled by New England democrats, who despite being smart people and having some good ideas don't play well much west of Maryland.

One quote about the mainstream democrats that actually could apply to the leaders of both parties. "...talk too much about too little..."

To have a chance, the republicans need to shed the hard christian right, bury the memory of this current crop of yahoos and get back to the basic mantra of less government and fiscal responsibility. I think the last fiscalally responsible republican was Eisenhower. If they send Sam Brownback up, the nation is in seious trouble, unless you are a evangelical christian.

BTW, not trying to blast evangelical christians. My ancestors were Pensylvania Quakers before moving to Kansas in the late 19th century. Its just that I don't think "In God We Trust" is supposed to specify any particular religion. Faith is a motivator when it is accepting of other's faiths, but a divider when it excludes.

Don't like either. Barack was raised a Radical Muslim. Also moved all through Europe as a child and went to boarding school in France I believe. So not a true american in my eyes. I do not think the American people are ready for someone who was raised a Radical Muslim!! My vote is going towards Rudy G!!

    Randy,

Barak was not raised as a radical Muslim, he spent the early part of his child hood in Hawaii, then moved to Indonesia for a few years then back to Hawaii. His father was from Kenya and absent for most of his life. His mother was from Kansas. He went to college in Los Angeles and then New York. After finishing college he took a job in Chicago as an organizer.

He is as much of an American as anyone.

Read his books, they are very good and give some great insight into who he is.

I like Hillary too and would heartily support either.

    NO MORE REPUBLICANS!!! [:D]

My faith in democracy is always a bit shaken when I realize that someone can be this ignorant and still be able to vote.

I've been doing the whole "get married and then drop off the face of the earth for a few months" deal. I feel like I've successfully acomplished that. Now if the woman lands a job soon, I might even be back in action at the racetrack :)
