6 Replies and 677 Views Highway Patrol's computer can scan multiple license plates??  677  6 Started by  John P Has anyone heard of this, I sure hadn't before today.  A cop car can now scan '500-800' plates an hour, checking anything from expired tags to warrants. &91url&93http://www.wired.com/cars/energy/news/2005/06/67864&91/url&93 Apparently this technology has made it here, so beware if your driving around on exipred tags.  I know I always forget.  Had a buddy get a warning last night since his tags had expired.  The cop even told him he never saw him, that this system sing...

0 Replies and 938 Views SPS & R&S Racing MiDiv Event2, in STL is open for Registrations!!!  938  0 Started by  gareno St Louis always puts on a great event. Its over the Memorial Day weekend. Note the event is actually held on Sunday and Monday. Which gives Saturday as a travel day. My family and I like to head out on Saturday morning. We can be in the city by noon, and that gives you a large chunk of the day to do some of the touristy things. Take in a view from the arch. They've got a great Zoo and its Free! If you tour the Budweiser plant (for free) they serve you free beer too! City Museum is great for the ...

2 Replies and 670 Views $1.5mil D-type in Dad's warehouse :)  670  2 Started by  Vibe My Dad just sent me these photos of the classic Jag D-type that he is shipping to the UK for a customer.  He manages the Chicago hub for Polar Cargo, an air freighter and gets to move some pretty cool stuff.  F1 cars, prototypes, and test vehicles, among other stuff.  The Jag is valued at 1.5mil!!  Figured some of you folks would appreciate the pics.  Only 87 of these made I think....and only 50-some were street cars. &91IMG&93http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c53/phi...

1 Replies and 483 Views can a viper be a viable autocross car  483  1 Started by  rod warner looking for a weekend autocross/ track/ and fun car. Have been running a neon in autocross, but want to get back to rear wheel drive. In 2 years of autocross, I have seen very few vipers. They seem to have specs comparable to a corvette with Z-51 suspension, and the current prices are favorable. I've watched a few folks run them, but they don't use race tires and generally seem to let the power overcome them. Folks running Z-06s seem to do well. Would like some thoughts from the field. Thinking ...

I am not sure how many of you guys know about the 24hrs of LeMons, but here is a link for some more info. http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/ A couple of buddies and I are making a LeMons racer. The car is a 1987 BMW 325iS and I got the car for free, (well actually i traded a guy some side skirts from another free parts car). Here is a picture of the car that we will be using.  Sorry for the size &91IMG&93http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l309/Dzickel/075.jpg&91/IMG...

13 Replies and 869 Views The coolest springbreak game evAr!  869  13 Started by  mugwump Name...that...car! I've noticed alot of complaining about the 'terrible' winter you all are suffering in Missouri, so I thought I would share with you what happens when Canada starts setting all time snow records (Feb. & Mar. this year, 75' total, 6' shy of the all time record with more expected before spring) Tara and I went out for a walk on Sunday and took these pictures.  Your guess is as good as mine.  &91img&93http://lh6.google.com/671pgt/R9W3xfmnX2I/AAAAAAAAAfw/Qva0EY_q...

11 Replies and 1094 Views Cool Game / Test  1094  11 Started by  Bryan S I came accross this on another web site: http://members.iinet.net.au/~pontipak/redsquare.html  There is a white field with a red square and blue shapes. The blue shapes move in a random pattern, the goal is to move the red square so that you don't get hit by the blue shapes, or crash into the perimeter. My best after 15 minutes of trying was a tad better than 15 seonds. Supposedly Air Force pilots must be able to do it for two minutes! Its perty addictive so careful.

6 Replies and 573 Views What places offer heat-cycled/shaved tires on-line?  573  6 Started by  John P I thought Tirerack used to offer this, now I can't seem to find anything on their website that indicates they offer heat-cycled/shaved tires.  I know Discount Tire Direct does offer it, but they don't carry the tire I want to run. So anybody know the deal with Tirerack, or of any other on-line place that offers it
