4 Replies and 829 Views Jack ratings  829  4 Started by  MattG I have added a full size Ram Pickup for weekend projects.     The truck weighs just over 4,600 lbs.   What should a jack be rated at to safely lift an axel   Harbor freight and Sams Club have 3 ton floor jacks for about $60. I have a 3,000lb AL racing jack but I don't know if I trust that given the front of the truck may weigh well over 2,000lbs.

5 Replies and 733 Views Check Engine Light  733  5 Started by  MattG CEL came on.  Engine runs fine to 5Krpm when it felt like the fuel was shut off (much like hitting the rev limiter).  Turned it off for about 4 hours.  Light is still on, but it seems to run fine, even past 5Krpm.    Any suggestions     Will Autozone check codes or does anyone have a scanner

6 Replies and 794 Views coolant flush, tires, air filter  794  6 Started by  SGleason So far, I&39;ve got three questions on getting my car ready for the season. I&39;m consulting your collective wisdom.  I plan on draining and refilling my engine coolant. The service manual doesn&39;t mention anything about flushing the system. It looks like I&39;m able to drain coolant from the radiator, radiator pipes, and engine, so there&39;s no problem with large portions of the coolant being blocked off. Should I flush anyway  I raced last season on street tires, and...

(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
Hypothetically speaking, if you were to turbocharge a late model 4 banger car (in St. Louis County) and replace the factory ECU with something like a Haltech, how would you pass emisions testing  The last time I had to license a car, they plugged into the ODB2 port to look for any error codes.  No errors, you pass.  If you no longer use the stock ECU, you would have a problem with that process.  Correct

4 Replies and 491 Views Recommended Jasper Engine Installer  491  4 Started by  krek Years of pushing Sheila&39;s F150 past its towing and hauling limits (and questionable maintenance habits) have resulted in needing to replace the engine.  I&39;m thinking Jasper Engine with the 3 year - 75,000 mile warranty. We don&39; t have a local installer here so I&39;m open to known and recommended shops in the St. Louis area.

(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
So I finally got time to tear into the Miata and get what I thought was the problem,  the throwout bearing.  That seems relatively fine, the clutch looks ok, the flywheel turns freely, there are not little bits and such anywhere so what&39;s the dealA little history.  Prior to the car dying there was a rather loud squeal from the car at clutch engagement, survey the web and the answer is either the slave cylinder or the TO bearing.  Check the slave and it is fine, so must b...
