2 Replies and 1819 Views Opinions on BFG g-Force T/A KDW (with new tread design)  1819  2 Started by  bsc7080psc &160;For those familiar with the BFG g-Force T/A KDW tires (with new tread pattern), I own a 2007 Honda Civic Si (sedan) and will be AutoX racing for the first time this year. I have Momo Corse S-Five rims (17x7). I just ordered a set of the KDWs (225/45R-17), and they should be here with plenty of time between now and my first race day. On April 10th I am attending a local autox training session with the next day being a points racing day. My question... looking for opinions of whether I purch...

5 Replies and 1698 Views side facing inwards/outwards  1698  5 Started by  sub-t I have some used kumho victoracers.  Question is, what would be the effects of mounting these with the labeled 'side facing inwards' on the outside  Is there any tire construction difference between the inside and outside, or is it just the tread block designThese tires still have lots of potential life, but the outside tread is worn and the inside tread looks brand new.  They were run on a dry auto-x track and were not shaved.  Guessing 2 to 4 events on them.

8 Replies and 2836 Views Seized brake caliper bolt - starting to round-off  2836  8 Started by  John P Hi all, looking for some advice as my car is now stranded in my garage. I was doing my brakes/front rotors on my STi, and the drivers side top caliper bolt is seized.  I had hit it with PB blaster and let it soak for about 3 hours before I event got to the drivers side, started cranking and pop, the wrench turned but the bolt didn't.  Now the bolt is starting to round off and I've called it quits for the night.  Anyone have some advice on how I can get this bolt out  ...

About the size of a saucer 1.5' high top is a dial with RPM on it, turn the dial and high tensile wire protrudes, place on a running motor when the wire stops vibrating that is your RPM.

8 Replies and 1187 Views Tire/wheel size - opinions?  1187  8 Started by  Danno I'm rolling around some ideas, and it's too quiet around here.  So I'm soliciting opinions on the question of the day.Suppose you had a 3400 pound AWD street touring car, and your choices of wheel/tire size were 245/45-17 on a 17x8.5 inch wheel and 245/40-18 on an 18x8.5 inch wheel...the 17 inch combo being significantly less expensive with the same tire.  How much would you feel you were giving up by using the 45 series tire vs. the 40 series  Enough to worry about

2 Replies and 890 Views Need some SAAB help  890  2 Started by  Scooby Do My wifes Saab 9000 needed new e-brake cables as her e-brake just wouldn't engage, even after trying all the adjustments. I just got done after spending the day replacing one of them (the other requires removal of the gas tank, that'll be this spring) and the bastard still wont engage! The handle travel is short, the e-brake lever on the caliper works and I followed the adjustment procedure to the T and nada.... 2 Replies and 986 Views 13x8 Diamond Wheels  986  2 Started by  Darapa I have a chance of picking up a set. Question is will they fit my '85 RX-7   The wheels have a four inch back spacing / 0 offset. For autu-x and track days i am currently useing 15x7 wheels with a 33 offset with 225/45-15 tires. These fit to the limit. I mount my tires at the house and drive to the event's. If i get the 13x8 wheels i will be useing 235/50-13 tires. the overall diameter of both sets is about the same. Also the RX-7 has a stock body, no wide body kit .    &nbs...

2 Replies and 1166 Views Tire pressure and braking  1166  2 Started by  MattG For Falken Azenis, or other tires,  how does the tire pressure affect the braking traction.   For instance, will more or less pressure aid in braking    I lowered the pressure in the front between runs, and it felt like my braking traction was less.  However, I did not know if that was tire temp, course changes, me over driving, etc.
