19 Replies and 322 Views Tires vs dampers  322  19 Started by  Syntari Okay, I realize that I talk about a lot of stuff without actually doing anything. :( But I figure that before the season starts this year, I'll have enough cash for one decent modification. Narrowing it down to stuff that will actually matter (I must resist HIDs!), I can either get some high-performance summer tires or some adjustable dampers and springs. The tires I'm looking at are Pirelli PZero Neros. I hear plenty of good things about them, even though they're no Azenis. I don't have qu...

This is what I had already heard about autocrossing folks too, which makes me excited.Anyway, the story is this. Just like so many other people, my Dad and I are car nuts. All day long we talk about cars, we are passionate about driving, everyone in my family drives a car with three pedals, etc. My ...

I was going to get a Mini Cooper S but I am goning to wait till 2007 to get one with the new BMW/Peugot Turbocharged motor. So in the mean time I am going to buy either a Kia Rio or a Hyundai Accent. Any idea on which of these cars would be better for stock autocross racing. Thanks guys

Just confused, as most newbies are, about classing of my particular car.I have a 87 bmw 325i. Only mods are mintex pads (not much of a mod) brembo rotors (same size as oem), tokico blue shocks and springs. Would that make me a STS D class What cars would I be going against Can I add a schroth harness without changing current classingbest regards to all

9 Replies and 295 Views Some 'Tire'some Decisions  295  9 Started by  iMagnusX Ok, with a whole new upcoming autocross season a short 4 1/2 monthes away, I'm wondering if I should consider getting another set of tires (and wheels). Certain items for sale on this site piqued my interest, such as oh, 15x6 wheels and some Victoracers.I've heard that using good tires, especially R-comps, will slow the learning process, which I certainly don't want to do. But if I am consistent enough in coming to events this coming season, I don't want to have to keep buying new regular tire...

So can I auto-x this weekend For a job I could do anything that doesn't involve running around.-Bill

4 Replies and 307 Views Hello everybody  307  4 Started by  Widowmaker Hello, my name is Matt. I've always been interested in cars, and I thought I might give autocross a try. I'm 18 years old and drive a 2003 Mustang GT 5-speed. I'm thinking about attending an autocross event towards the end of the month just to spectate, and see if it seems like something I'd be interested in. If all goes well, I'd like to get started shortly after that. I was browsing the web and saw that you guys seemed to be knowledgeable, so I thought I’d stop by and introduce myself.
