8 Replies and 237 Views Subwoofer removal  237  8 Started by  Syntari I'm thinking of adding a small subwoofer setup to my Focus, because I'm a huge ricer. Specifically, it will be sunk into a false floor in the hatch, using the space that the spare tire used to occupy. If it's securely fastened down, will it pass tech I'm specifically wondering whether it counts as a convenience device under 13.2.A. I'll certainly design the enclosure to be removable, I just won't feel like taking it out at every event. Let's be honest, my car is slow because I'm...

Hey,Just stumbled across this forum, so I thought I would post about what I'm after...I've got about $1000 or less to spend, and I'm trying to figure out what a decent first autocross car I could get for that.I live in Canada, and there are definitely no Miata's for even $3000-$4000 for sale around here. I'm just looking for something to beat on at the track, I have a '90 Integra that I daily drive right now. I would have no problems racing it , except that I really don't want to break somethin...

13 Replies and 207 Views The New Car Blues  207  13 Started by  Martin2D Hi,I've always been interested in solo2, but haven't been able to get out there. My car situation must be changing as I'm going off to college next year. My parents want me to be safe in the snow/etc and I need a FWD/AWD car. I currently drive a 1990 240sx in awesome condition, but it must go. I come here looking for some options on a meager budget of $6000 maximum. This MUST be a daily driver, which means the overall priority MUST be RELIABILITY. I've been searching for the "e;usual&q...

Great site.Anyhow, I am currently selling my baby (a 1986 944 Turbo with some goodies) in the search for a new more reliable car. I am going to buy a newer car, and I would like to have a fun, competitive summer and wish for my next car to be well suited to its respective class. I was originally thinking Lexus IS300 (4 doors, appears to be a contender in D-Stock). Then I drove by a Mazda Dealer and to my suprise the salesman immediately offered a Mazdaspeed Miata for $22K ne...
